1989: Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Charles J. Bannon signs a foreclosure judgment setting up a sheriff’s sale of the former Idora Amusement Park unless the owner, Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church, makes payment against its $250,000 mortgage and $30,000 in back taxes.

Warren City School District teachers accept a two-year wage freeze, removing a hurdle to a new contract and a retirement incentive program that could save the district $1.3 million a year.
