Pa. woman to stand trial in slaying of grandfather
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A woman charged with fatally stabbing her grandfather in their Pennsylvania home has been ordered to stand trial.
Chene Mejias, 21, of Allentown is charged with homicide in the death of 65-year-old Wilson Mejias, who was found dead in the bedroom of his apartment March 11.
A police officer testified at today’s preliminary hearing that Mejias told officers she stabbed her grandfather after catching him touching himself outside of a bathroom that her girlfriend was using.
Mejias told police her grandfather had previously taken the locks off the bathroom door and would walk in or stand outside the door when either woman was inside.
The two women fled after the stabbing to New York City, where the girlfriend’s mother lives, before Mejias called Allentown police.
