Father and son dinner Wednesday at Elm Tree in Struthers

STRUTHERS — McGuffey Elementary School of Youngstown invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, nephews, and other significant role models to the first-ever “Father & Son Dinner” from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Elm Tree, 170 Walton Ave. This is a “black-tie/formal attire” affair.

The dinner is to bring young male students attending McGuffey Elementary together with a positive male role model in their lives to share an evening of fun and excitement that will include entertainment, prizes, and food.

The master of ceremonies is Jamael Tito Brown, Youngstown City Council president, and the guest speaker is William “Guy” Burney, coordinator of the Community Initiative to Reduce Violence. Entertainment will be provided by Julius Veal.

The cost to attend is $12 for adults and $10 for students. Volunteers and sponsors are still needed.
