Man arrested on theft charge out of Boardman

The US Marshals arrested a 29-year-old Canfield man on a warrant for robbery on Friday after he was accused of attempting to steal

more than $300 in construction materials from Home Depot.

Victor Daprile II of Twin Oaks Court was charged by Boardman police for the April 23rd incident.

He was taken to the Mahoning County Jail.

Just after 12:30 p.m. April 23, Boardman police were dispatched to Home Depot on the report of a theft and a fleeing suspect.

A Home Depot employee told police the suspect selected several construction items while comparing them to a receipt he had in his hand.

When he was approached by the employee after he purportedly went past all points of checkout without paying for his items, Daprile told the employee he had a receipt.

As Daprile tried to get away, he pushed the employee. The employee was able to snap a photo of his license plate and keep the merchandise.

A court date has not been set for Daprile.
