Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., blood pressure checks and 30 minutes with God at 9, bingo at 10, painting class at 10:15, beginner computer class at 10:30, senior spinning at 11, and advanced computer class, township trustee meeting and lunch at noon; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., container gardening video class at 9, bingo at 10, Zumba at 11, quilting class at 11:30, chair yoga and lunch at noon, conversational Spanish at 12:30 p.m. and AARP Notables and genealogy class at 1 p.m.; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., travel photography class and 30 minutes with God at 9, bingo, beginner computer class and Fountain of Youth fitness at 10, senior spinning at 11, tai chi and pizza party ($3) at noon, movie matinee at 12:30 p.m. and ballroom dancing at 1; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and Greece and Turkey video class at 9, chair yoga at 9:15, SOS at 9:30, intermediate crocheting classes and Vets Helping Vets at 10, knitting class at 10:15, intermediate computer class and beginner crocheting class at 11, wine tasting video class at noon and dinner and grocery bingo at 5 p.m.; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., Medieval Europe video class at 9, bingo and discussion group at 10 and senior spinning at noon. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned the following free Lunch and Learn programs: At 10:30 a.m. May 6 the program will introduce the new S.C.O.P.E. Financial Stability Program for all senior citizens in Trumbull County or S.C.O.P.E. members living in Mahoning County. Lunch will follow the presentation. At 10:30 a.m. May 13 the topic will be “Take Charge of Your Health” by Beth Massaro of Gateway Health. There are no membership or residency requirements. Participants must register before the event by calling 330-544-3676 or by visiting the center from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, needlecraft and community fun day at Boardman Park at 10 a.m., bridge at 1 p.m. and Drums Alive at 2:30; Tuesday, brush, knife and needle club at 10 a.m. and beginner and intermediate bridge at noon; Wednesday, watercolors at 10 a.m., tap class at noon, 500 card club (players needed) at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 1:30; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., computer classes at 10 and noon, exercise at noon and advanced computer and Texas Hold’em at 2 p.m.; Friday, Wii bowling at 10 a.m., card and board games at noon, movie matinee at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2. Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, Poland, is hosting a mature drivers course taught by a state-certified AAA instructor. The class is for drivers age 60 and older and will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 and 20 at the center. The cost is $10 for AAA members and $15 for nonmembers. Insurance companies determine the amount of discounts, which are good for three years.
