The Ohio Department of Transportation is starting several projects in Mahoning County.

In Canfield Township and Austintown, beginning today and continuing through next Sunday, state Route 11 northbound and southbound will be reduced to one lane at Shields Road and the Ohio Turnpike for concrete bridge overlays.

Beginning Monday, Route 11 northbound and southbound between U.S. Route 224 and the Columbiana County line will have lane restrictions for resurfacing through late July. Garfield Road, Renkenberger Road, and Leffingwell Road over Route 11 have various lane restrictions for bridge deck paving. Until further notice, Route 11 under Leffingwell Road has various lane restrictions for bridge repairs through late April.

In Berlin and Milton townships, state Route 534 between Route 224 and the Trumbull County line has various lane restrictions for resurfacing.

Also, Route 224 between the Portage County line and Route 534; and Route 534 between Route 224 and the Trumbull County line will have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing.

In Boardman and Beaver townships beginning May 5, Interstate 680 northbound and southbound under Western Reserve Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction for road construction.

In ongoing projects, U.S. Route 62 between U.S. Route 422 and the Trumbull County line has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $1.7 million project to resurface Route 62 from Route 422 to Belle Avenue and state Route 170 between Powers Way and Glenwood Avenue.

In Youngstown, these lane restrictions and ramp closures are in place through early September: the Route 422 bridge over Route 62/State Route 7 is reduced to one lane in each direction; Route 62 northbound ramp to Route 422 westbound is closed. The detour is Albert Street to West Rayen Avenue; and Route 422 eastbound to Route 62 northbound is closed. The detour is Route 422 to Oak Street to Albert Street.

In Youngstown, the Route 62 bridge between South Avenue and Himrod Avenue over the Mahoning River, Poland Avenue, Cedar Street and the railroad is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs.

In Poland and Boardman, Route 224 between I-680 and Tiffany Boulevard is reduced to one lane for road widening and interchange work. Motorists should expect delays.
