Youngstown woman charged with trying to run over bondsmen

YOUNGSTOWN

A Youngstown woman wanted on three misdemeanor warrants from municipal court is also facing a felonious assault charge after a pair of bail bond workers said she tried to run them over at about 10:10 a.m. Friday at a home in the 1800 block of Stewart Avenue on the East Side.

Reports say the bail bond workers were looking for 30-year-old Candis Bacher, who had warrants for a traffic violation, loud music and drug paraphernalia, and they found her in a car in the driveway. When they told her she was wanted, she backed her car out of the drive and ran into the van the bond workers came in, reports said.

Reports said Bacher then drove forward and tried to hit the workers before backing up into their van and pushing it out of the way. She was shot in the neck with a dart from a stun gun by one of the bond workers, reports say. She then continued driving in reverse on Stewart Avenue, hitting a utility pole in the process, before driving away. Her car was later found by Liberty police behind a Belmont Avenue ice cream shop.

She was arrested about noon at the police station and was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
