Dizzy B’s to have ribbon-cutting

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Owner Belinda Morjock and the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will host a ribbon-cutting at the new Dizzy B’s Cafe and Bakery, 81/2 Sycamore Drive, at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The locally owned and operated cafe offers full breakfast and lunch menus, using local, farm-raised food.

Dizzy B’s will have an open house Tuesday, offering free samples and loyalty cards.

Normal hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Business showcase

COLUMBIANA

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce and Col-Pump Co. Inc. hosted the Spring Business Showcase on Thursday at the Col-Pump facility, 131 E. Railroad St.

The event was part of the chamber’s program of quarterly showcases, meant to encourage networking and education among local businesspeople.

The chamber will have the Summer Business Showcase at Whispering Pines Village on July 24.

Taylor to deliver keynote address

Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor will deliver the keynote address at the 2014 Women in Energy Summit, presented by U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson of Marietta, R-6th, at 11:20 a.m. Monday at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palymra Road.

Phantom Fireworks renews contract

YOUNGSTOWN

Phantom Fireworks has renewed its contract with Fireworks by Grucci for the summer season.

The partnership, the Phantom Grucci Collection, includes Grucci, based in Bellport, N.Y., which produces high-quality, reloadable mortar shells, available exclusively at Phantom Fireworks showrooms.

Team Northeast Ohio report

CLEVELAND

Team Northeast Ohio reported Friday that regional economic development activity secured three new business investments and supported the growth of 24 regional businesses in the first quarter of 2014.

According to Team NEO’s Regional Economic Development Report, the area gained $240 million in payroll, $684 million in new capital investment and 4,814 jobs in the first three months of the year.
