Fitch 8, Canfield 3

CANFIELD

Kyle Benyo tripled, homered and drove in four runs for Fitch. The Falcons’ Al DiFrancesco pitched six innings and struck out five. Fitch’s Scott Pierce had two hits, including a double, and Zack Miller had two hits and two RBIs. Phil Socha doubled home two runs and Pat Gerberry had two hits for Fitch (5-6, 1-1 All-American Conference Red). Alec Hammond had a two-run single for Canfield (7-5, 3-1).

Poland 19, Struthers 0, 5 innings

STRUTHERS

Pat Carlozzi tossed a one-hitter, striking out six for the Bulldogs (9-2, 3-1 All-American Conference Red Division). Chase Knodle and Ricky Svetlak and Corey Svatosky each doubled. Svatosky had three hits while Svetlak and Marty Malenic had two apiece.

Niles 12, Lakeside 2, 5 innings

NILES

Chris Parry had three hits, two runs and two RBIs to lead Niles. James Tate added two hits, a run and three RBIs. Kyle Paden pitched a four-hitter with six strikeouts and a walk. He also had singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove in a run. Nick Meloa had two hits for Lakeside.

Campbell 19, East 0, 5 innings

CAMPBELL

Ryan Luciano and DJ Rodriguez each had four hits. Stephan Elash struck out 12 and walked two. Brandon Jackson had a hit for the Panthers.

Girard 9, Champion 4

GIRARD

Kyle Harris broke open a 5-3 game with a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning for Girard (11-0, 7-0 AAC Blue). Harris finished with three hits and four RBIs. Evan Standohar had two hits and three RBIs and Austin DeGregory drove in two runs for the Indians. Ryan Leasure (2-0) allowed three hits and four walks while striking out five in six innings. Michael Turner had a double and two RBIs for Champion (5-2, 4-2).

Ursuline 5, St. Thomas Aquinas 1

LOUISVILLE

Alex Schlosser threw a complete-game five-hitter for the Irish (4-6). Dion Felger singled, homered and drove in two. Tannor Berry doubled. For the Knights (10-4), Dan Piero had two hits.

Steubenville 7, Boardman 2

BOARDMAN

Scott Lendak had two hits for the Spartans (2-12), who fell behind 7-0 in the sixth. Dan Joyce (0-1) got the loss. Justin Corsi (2-1) pitched a six-hitter for Big Red (8-5) while Anthony Zorne had a homer and three RBIs.

Springfield 10, Crestview 0, 6 innings

NEW MIDDLETOWN

James Hillyer pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks for Springfield (14-1, 7-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Luke Frye had a double and two RBIs, Dalton Donachie had two RBIs, Ian Kohler had two hits and Brandon Chamberlain doubled and singled.

Mineral Ridge 2, Jackson-Milton 1

NORTH JACKSON

Greg Strohmeyer (4-0) pitched a five-hitter and the Rams (6-2, 6-2 ITCL) picked up an RBI single from Darren Colon and a run-scoring double from Jared Gherardi. Nick Woloshak’s sacrifice fly drove in the lone run for the Bluejays. Nick Ferguson had three hits for Mineral Ridge and Gherardi and Christian Young each had two. Jeremy Fitzpatrick had three hits and Jay Rentz had two for Jackson-Milton.

East Palestine 11, Southern 0

EAST PALESTINE

Sam Yarosz went 3 for 4 and scored twice and Alex Dumbauld and Andy Ellis each had two hits for the Bulldogs (5-2, 4-2 ITCL). Dumbauld (1-0) worked five scoreless innings and allowed three hits for the victory.

McDonald 12, Leetonia 1, 5 innings

LEETONIA

Mike Schuller (1-1) struck out seven and allowed one hit and one walk. He also homered and Brian Kelzer doubled and singled for the Blue Devils (5-5, 3-2 ITCL). Schuller, Kelzer and Kenny Greaver all drove in two runs each.

Western Reserve 13, Lowellville 0, 5 innings

STRUTHERS

Nick Allison (4-0) tossed a three-hit, seven-strikeout shutout for the Blue Devils. Dan Rosati had a double, two singles and three runs batted in, Dan Zilke had two singles and two RBIs, Evan Nesbitt tripled and drove in two runs and Walker Marlowe scored three runs.

Mathews 13, Py. Valley 3, 6 innings

VIENNA

Jeremy Forsythe singled, doubled and drove in four runs for Mathews (6-4, 5-1 NAC), while Bryan Leipply had three hits and two RBIs and Mike Kennedy had two hits and two RBIs. Py. Valley is 3-7, 3-4.
