Man arrested in drug store robbery

Police arrested a man in the first block of South Glenellen Avenue on the West Side about 10:10 a.m. Tuesday in connection with the robbery of a Mahoning Avenue drug store March 11.

Kenny Stanton, 28, was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery and was taken to the Mahoning County jail and is expected to be arraigned in municipal court later today. He is accused of robbing the CVS drug store at 2846 Mahoning Ave. Reports said he bought a candy car and took it to the counter, then pulled a gun and demanded money, before running away.

Police went to the home and the homeowner told them Stanton was upstairs, an arrest report said. He was founding on the top bunk of a bunk bed hiding under a pile of clothes, reports said.
