UPDATE: Hostage situation at Trumbull County jail

WARREN

Law enforcement was called to the Trumbull County jail about 3:30 p.m. today for a hostage situation.

Officials said three inmates were holding a corrections officer hostage.

One of the three inmates is David Martin, who is charged in the murder of Jeremy Cole. Martin had threatened corrections officers in recent weeks.

Another of the inmates is Kevin Johns, who was sentenced to 20-plus years in prison on a kidnapping and rape.

Warren police called for a hostage negotiator. Ambulances are standing by.

Dozens of officers from Warren police, the county sheriff's office and the state patrol responded, Additional FBI and state officers are on their way.
