20/20 BBQ in Hubbard

HUBBARD

The producer of an ABC “20/20” segment on a horn-honking harassment case said the show is inviting people in Hubbard to discuss the problem civilly at a barbecue Saturday.

Andrew Paparella said he did not want to respond to city council President Bill Williams’ concern that the “Peace and Reconciliation BBQ” isn’t to promote reconciliation. “They don’t want peace and love on TV,” Williams said Monday night. Paparella said a response would not be useful.

School vandalism

BOARDMAN

Township police are investigating a vandalism report at Market Street Elementary School, 5555 Market St. The principal called police Monday morning to report the vandalism. He discovered the handle on an outside door was broken off and a piece of playground equipment had graffiti on it, according to a police report.

The principal reviewed the security footage and saw 15 children on and in the playground area with one man defacing the equipment with paint. There was vulgar language and body parts painted on the playground equipment, but it was painted over by the school janitor.

A name of a possible suspect was given to police.

Boyle said he is looking forward to fixing up his house, moving in and paying off some debt. He purchased the winning ticket from Circle K, 1125 E. State St., Salem. Circle K receives a $500 agent bonus for selling the ticket.

Robbed again

WARREN

Little Caesar’s Restaurant, 2525 Youngstown Road SE, was robbed at 8:51 p.m. Monday — at least the third time it’s been robbed at gunpoint since early November.

Employees said a male in dark clothing robbed the restaurant with a handgun, then fled west on Youngstown Road. Police were unable to locate him. The restaurant is near Willard Avenue. The same restaurant was the victim of similar robberies Nov. 22 and Nov. 7. Police provided little information about the Nov. 7 robbery but said two masked men, both with a gun, were responsible for the Nov. 22 incident.
