Vandalism reported at Market Street Elementary School in Boardman

BOARDMAN — Township police are investigating a vandalism report at Market Street Elementary School, 5555 Market St.

The principal called police Monday morning to report the vandalism. He discovered the handle on an outside door was broken off and a piece of playground equipment had graffiti on it, according to a police report.

The principal reviewed the security footage and saw 15 children on and in the playground area with one man defacing the equipment with paint.

There was vulgar language and body parts painted on the playground equipment, but it was painted over by the school janitor.

A name of a possible suspect was given to police.
