Canfield 7, Fitch 6

AUSTINTOWN

Caroline Griswold’s two-run double in the top of the seventh provided the winning margin as the Cardinals scored three runs in their final at-bat. Karina Kennedy and Allison Fabry scored on the decisive sequence for Canfield (8-3, 4-0 All-American Conference Red). Fabry came on in the seventh to pitch and shut down the Falcons. The game saw eight lead changes. Ally Sammarco doubled, singled and drove in a run. For Fitch (8-5, 2-3), Alex Franken and Sierra Pierce both had three doubles and an RBI and Alex Corradi had two singles and two RBIs.

Newton Falls 7, Girard 6

GIRARD

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead with four second-inning runs and held off a Girard (5-4, 3-3 AAC Blue) rally in the seventh. For Newton Falls, Hallie Stamm, Katrelyn Wainwright, Rhonda Rothaker and Cammie Cochron each had two hits. Cochron smacked an inside-the-park home run and Natalie Georgalas did her one better with a fence-clearing shot. For Girard, Neco Maderitz had a double and four RBIs while Mel Bakes had a double and two singles and Anne Parillo had two RBIs.

Lakeview 3, Hubbard 0

CORTLAND

Taylor Ward struck out 12 and walked none in a five-hit shutout. Sam Marino’s two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth helped the cause while Caitlin McDivitt recorded two hits and Laura Innocenzi smacked a triple. Caitlin O’Hara struck out two Lakeview hitters and allowed seven hits for Hubbard, while Taylor Barton and Alivia Sandberg each had two hits.

LaBrae 5, Liberty 0

LIBERTY

Emily Dugan earned the win, striking out 15 batters and walking only two in her shutout victory for LaBrae (8-1, 5-1 AAC Blue). Kasey Rininger smacked a two-run home run in the seventh and Lauren Rutherford had two hits. Lindsay Johnson struck out nine and walked eight for Liberty (2-5, 2-2 AAC).

Brookfield 13, Campbell 0, 5 innings

BROOKFIELD

Lauren Hawley allowed one hit and struck out nine in the run-shortened win for the Warriors (5-3, 3-3 AAC). Hawley also had two hits including a triple. Alisha Quinlan and Megan Murphy both doubled.

Boardman 5, Warren Harding 4

BOARDMAN

Junior Kristen Huck pitched a complete game four-hitter and had 10 strikeouts. Sophomore Anna Saxton was 3-for-3 with two doubles and Morgan Smith and Lindsay Soltis each had two hits. Warren Harding was led by Sheila Powell with a triple and Taylor Long and Alayshah Harris with a doubles.

Youngstown Christian 16, Youngstown East 4

YOUNGSTOWN

Michelle Limbeck struck out six and earned the win on the mound while Julia Gavin led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four runs scored for the Eagles (4-5). Five Eagles scored two runs. For East, Honaey Ingram went 2-3 and scored two runs.

Ursuline 10, Conneaut 0

CONNEAUT

Irish starter Makayla Shore threw a no-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two as Ursuline (6-3) beat Conneaut (8-2). The Irish’s 15-hit attack was led by McKenzie Stimpert’s two hits which included a second-inning solo home run. Stephanie Ohalek and Megan Ross each had three hits. Anny Carroll and Kara Gatta also chipped in with two hits apiece.

South Range 24, East Palestine 0, 5 innings

SOUTH RANGE

Jessica Skirpak allowed just one hit and struck out eight, while also going 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs for South Range. Stevie Taylor went deep twice for the Raiders (9-2, 5-0 ITCL) with five RBIs and Caragyn Yanek had a single, a double, a homer and three RBIs. East Palestine is 0-8.

Springfield 5, Jackson-Milton 4

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Shelby Sandrock’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a two-run come-from behind victory. Freshman Nikki Bovo came on in relief to strike out six of the seven batters she faced to earn the win. She also had two hits. The Bluejays led 2-0 after one inning and 4-2 before the Tigers scored three runs in the final two innings.

Edgewood 8, Struthers 2

ASHTABULA

Dana Wilkos struck out three on the mound for Struthers, allowing two earned runs on four hits over 4 1/3 innings. Kelsey Agnone and Emily Rosen both singled and Katie Fischillo drove in a run for Struthers.

McDonald 9, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE

Cheyenne Titus struck out nine and walked one over the first six innings and Kerrigain McDermott pitched the seventh inning to combine on a no-hitter for McDonald (3-3, 3-1 ITCL Tier One). Alyssa Ritz had four hits, Olivia Sanson had three hits and Kendra Kelly had two hits. Southern is 3-8.

Mathews 2, Maplewood 0

VIENNA

Cheyenne Eggens (4-3) pitched a two-hitter with 16 strikeouts and one walk for Mathews (4-4, 2-1 NAC), which scored unearned runs in the first and third innings. Maddie Williams singled and tripled for the Mustangs. Brooke Dawson pitched a four-hitter for Maplewood and also had two hits.

Badger 10, Grand Valley 7

KINSMAN

Taylor Kramer had three hits and scored two runs and Maggie Constiner and Liz Emery each added two hits for Badger (3-5). Harlee Logan tripled and drove in two runs. Shar Miller doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in three for Grand Valley.
