Jury deliberating fate of Lamar Reese in murder trial

YOUNGSTOWN — The jury has begun deliberating the fate of Lamar Reese, 21, of Worthington Street, who is charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the Sept. 16, 2011, shooting death of 17-year-old Josh Davis on a Willis Avenue front porch during an alleged marijuana deal.

After hearing final instructions from Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, the jury began deliberating at 11:15 a.m. today.

The trial of Frankie Hudson, 21, of Falls Avenue, on the same charges in this incident is scheduled to begin June 23.
