Rescue Mission to get new look, seeks community involvement

YOUNGSTOWN

Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, which has provided food, shelter, safety and a second chance since 1894, is revamping its public look to reflect its new emphasis on transforming the lives of its clients through education, job placement and guidance.

The new emphasis benefits the entire community because it helps those who come for emergency shelter to become self-sustaining, said Jim Echement, executive director.

At 10 a.m. Thursday, mission officials will talk about the new effort and introduce the components of its new branding campaign, which includes a new logo, color scheme, TV spot, website and theme.

Also, the Mission will introduce the Better Tomorrow Team, a new way for the community to get involved with the Mission.
