Austintown Fitch 7, James Madison (Va.) 6

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Austintown Fitch held on in a wild seventh inning to win the Grandstand softball tournament championship game over previously unbeaten James Madison (Va.). The Falcons (8-4) scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a four-run lead, but James Madison (10-1) matched their number in the bottom of the inning before Sierra Pierce closed the game out. Cali Mikovich had two hits and two RBIs and Mercedes Pratt had three singles for Fitch.

Jackson-Milton 4, Lisbon 3, 9 innings

NORTH JACKSON

Taylor Tharp singled in Angel Riggs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Jackson-Milton the extra innings victory over Lisbon. Tharp was 4-for-5 on the afternoon. Beth Ritchie pitched all nine innings for the Bluejays, striking out 11 batters. Devyn Flory was 4-for-4 at the plate for the Blue Devils.

Tallmadge 5, Howland 3

TALLMADGE

Joanna Catalano hit a two-run home run to guide Tallmadge to a win over Howland. Sara Price went 2-for-3 for the Tigers (4-4) with an RBI. Kristen Lightel earned the win, striking out seven and walking just two for Tallmadge.

West Branch 14, Canton South 4

BELOIT

Bailey McElwain and Kaylie Lewis had four hits apiece for the Warriors (6-1, 4-1 NBC). McElwain’s hits included a triple and a double and Lewis drove in four runs. Bailey Byers added three singles and three RBI and Maddie Pidgeon had a double and a single and four runs batted in. Sarah Weber (4-0) was the winning pitcher.

Western Reserve 20, Leetonia 1, 5 innings

LEETONIA

Aleah Hughes and Alexis Miller combined for a eight strikeout two-hitter over Leetonia to keep Western Reserve unbeaten. Miller earned the win and had two singles at the plate. Maddie Krietzburg had a bases-clearing triple and Hughes had a single and two doubles for the Blue Devils (7-0, 6-0 ITCL). Leetonia committed four errors in the game.

Western Reserve 15, Wellsville 2, 5 innings

WELLSVILLE

Maddie Krietzburg improved to 3-0 on the season thanks to a complete game four-hitter against Wellsville on Thursday. Krietzburg struckout seven, without a walk, in five innings of work. The Blue Devils (6-0, 5-0 ITCL) had the bats going too, collecting 18 hits. Marley Oles had a single, a double and a home run, and Jenny Stubbs had a single and two doubles.
