BRISTOL
Jake Felicetty scored the winning run on a Phil Aliberti suicide squeeze in the bottom of the seventh to lift Bristol over Lordstown. Aaron Wiebe earned the win on the mound for the Panthers (2-2), while also collecting a hit and two RBIs. Wiebe struck out seven and walked two. Steven Gill was charged with the loss, giving up the game-winning hit.
Canton South 4, West Branch 3
CANTON
Jeff Vizzuso pitched shutout ball for six innings and his teammates supported him with a three-run fifth inning, but the Wildcats (3-6, 3-3 NBC) pushed across the winning run with two outs in the seventh for the walk-off win. Ryan Adams had three hits for West Branch (5-5, 4-2), Jake Smith had two hits and two runs batted in and Kyle Ziegler had two hits. Vizzuso finished with five strikeouts in 62⁄3 innings of work.
Edgewood 6, Niles 2
ASHTABULA
Matt DiDonato went 2-for-4 and knocked in two runs for Edgewood in its win over Niles. Steven Perkio allowed just five hits over seven innings for the Warriors. Tyler Srbinovich had a hit and scored a run for the Dragons. Kyle Paden struggled on the hill, walking six and allowing five runs over 41⁄3 innings.
Howland 11, Liberty 0, 5 innings
HOWLAND
AJ Armstrong allowed just two hits over five innings to earn the shutout victoy against Liberty. Armstrong had six strikeouts and a walk. Leadoff hitter Kyle Watson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs for the Tigers. Kurtis Kuszmaul had a team-high three RBIs.
Western Reserve 23, Wellsville 4, 5 innings
BERLIN CENTER
Wellsville had no answer for Western Reserve’s Danny Rosati, who went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and six stolen bases. Jacob Clark had double and a grand slam for Blue Devils (4-2, 4-0 ITCL) as well. Ian Hames earned his first win of the season on the mound.
Newton Falls 22-17, East 0-2
NEWTON FALLS
Jason Nicholas had three hits for Newton Falls and Justin Humphrey and Zac Keffer combined for a one-hit shutout in game one. Matt Swingle earned the win for the Tigers (6-0) in the second game. Milton Buckner and Jeremy Woodberry had the only two hits on the day for East (0-5, 0-4).
Southeast 5, Streetsboro 4
STREETSBORO
Daniel Herr had two hits, an RBI and a stolen base in Southeast’s win over Streetsboro. Jordan Krych added two more hits and a stolen base for the Pirates (5-2, 1-2). Austin Ritts had three hits and an RBI for Streetsboro (3-5, 3-1). Gage Simpkins was charged with the loss.
