CANFIELD

Canfield Board of Education members this week approved new salaries and a new scoreboard.

Board members accepted the bid of Multi Media Farms LLC for $50,781 for a new scoreboard that will be paid for with permanent improvement funds. Multi Media Farms was the lowest among five bidders. The highest bid was $100,219.

Board President Lee Frey said Canfield has been keeping its football-stadium scoreboard running with repairs for years. “It lasted a lot longer than I ever thought it would last,” Frey said.

The board approved the licenses of three substitutes, hired a new high-school counselor and district test coordinator for $37,413 a year, and renewed contracts for teachers and tutors.

Frey said Traci Hostetler, principal of Canfield Village Middle School, resigned effective April 21, the first Monday after spring break. He said she is leaving Canfield to be an administrator in a curriculum position with the Massillon school district.
