Austintown Burger King robbed

AUSTINTOWN

Three employees of Burger King were threatened with weapons during an armed robbery Thursday night.

Officers arrived at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave., at 11:10 p.m. Thursday after a 911 call from the employees. A male and a female, dressed in all black with ski masks on, fled the restaurant after taking an unknown amount of cash.

Once on scene, officers used police dogs to track the suspects, but did not find them.

According to a police report, the three employees saw two suspects approach the east side main entrance wearing all black with ski masks on. Two of the employees attempted to lock the doors, but the suspects forced their way inside.

Once inside, the male suspect held a knife to two of the employees in the kitchen and told them to keep their heads down with their hands on tables or he would cut their throats. While waiting with the employees, the male suspect sent a timer on a phone for three minutes and told them not to call police.

The female suspect took the third employee to the back office, held a small handgun to the employee's head, and demanded money from the safe and drawers. Once she received the cash, she poured water over the employees' electrical equipment and fled.
