A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

April 2

Fraudulent tax return: A resident in the 70 block of Cardinal Drive reported a fraudulent tax return. An investigation is being conducted by the Internal Revenue Service.

April 5

Obstructing official business: Jake Suess, 20, of Bentley Oak Drive, Mason, was arrested on a charge of obstructing official business.

April 7

Unauthorized charges: Unauthorized charges to a debit card were reported at a home in the 70 block of Cardinal Drive.

April 8

Falsification: Sherrie Campana, 49, of Sciota Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of falsification at the driver’s exam station, 490 S. Broad St.

Disorderly conduct: Bonnie Mauch, 59, of Lower Elkton, Columbiana, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Drugs: William Miller, 36, of Indian Run, Canfield, was arrested on charges of drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

April 7

Theft: A television was taken and pawned by a son at a home in the 3000 block of Brandomyne Avenue.

Theft: A dirt bike was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Winthrop Drive.

April 8

Attempted theft: Security cables were damaged during an attempted theft of mowers at Tractor Supply, 6225 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated burglary: A male entered a residence in the 300 block of Forest Hill Drive and threatened residents, indicating he had a firearm.

Drug offense: Lucas Hammond, 23, of Kirk Road, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia, drug instruments and theft.

Domestic violence: Dominic Chicase, 21, of Idlewood Road, was arrested on charges of domestic violence, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Breaking and entering: A vacant house was broken into in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

April 9

Theft: A 15-year-old student and a teacher’s aide were involved in an altercation at Austintown Fitch High school.

Telecommunications harassment: Cyber-bullying was reported at a home in the 3000 block of South Raccoon Road.

April 10

Theft: A theft was reported at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 U.S. Route 62.

Breaking and entering: Copper piping, and windows to the school were removed at Davis Elementary, 4302 Maple Ave.

Theft: Medication was taken from a vehicle at the Comfort Inn, 5425 Clarkins Drive.

Criminal damaging: Damage to a vehicle was reported at a home in the 100 block of North Navarre Ave.

Theft: An employee is a suspect in a theft at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Raymond Bell, 54, of Mahoning Ave. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of criminal trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

Warrant: Daniel Faran, 39, of Bexley Drive, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A female left the store with merchandise, which was recovered at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Felonious assault: Darnell Thompson, 34, of Westchester Drive was arrested on a charge of felonious assault.

April 11

Breaking and entering: A log splitter was stolen at Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Johnathan Dill, 19, of 5226 Kennedy Road, Coitsville, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal trespassing charge.

Theft: Contents of a purse from inside a vehicle were stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.

Theft: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 1000 block of Idlewood Road.

Theft: Kayle Scurti, 18, of Rosemont Ave., Youngstown, and Cassandra Slatem, 22, of North Four Mile Run Road, were released on summonses after the theft of $208.52 in merchandise at Walmart,6001 Mahoning Avenue.

April 12

Disorderly conduct: Frank Santolla, 63, of Kirk Road was issued a summons for disorderly conduct at The Manor, 3104 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Disturbance: Two women were fighting at apartments in the 900 block of Compass West.

Warrant: Robert Herrara, 30, of Bainbridge Avenue, was arrested on a warrant for menacing by stalking.

Counterfeit currency: Four counterfeit $50 bills were passed at Giant Eagle.

Drug offense: Jeffrey Heckathorn, 25, of 2004 High Hill Road, Pulaski, Pa., was issued a summons charging him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

April 13

Domestic violence: Darrick Vasko, 44, of Claridge Drive, was arrested on a domestic-violence charge.

Breaking and entering: Two brothers are suspects in theft at a garage at a home in the 200 block of Inewood Road.

Theft: A spare key was stolen from the glove box of an auto in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Theft: $1,700 in unauthorized charges were made on an account at the Talmer Bank, 101 S. Canfield-Niles Road.
