Boardman man accused of stabbing girlfriend

BOARDMAN — Boardman police arrested a 32-year-old man on Monday after he was accused of stabbing his girlfriend at the couple's Oakley Avenue home.

Christopher Poe is in the Mahoning County Jail where he faces charges of felonious assault, a felony in the second-degree, and domestic violence, a felony in the fourth-degree.

The victim went to the Boardman Police Department on Monday to report the assault at about 6:30 p.m.

She told police earlier in the day, Poe was drinking heavily and attacked her with a knife.

She was stabbed in the leg and he slashed her arm.

He also threatened to kill her, according to a police report. The victim had at least four slash marks, a puncture wound and visible bruising on her face. She did not wish to be cared for by medics.

Poe was scheduled to appear in court this morning.

Poe was previously arrested for domestic violence on his girlfriend in December. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charged of attempted assault.

He has a hearing for the current charges at 10:00 a.m. April 22 in Boardman court.
