Dairy Queens plan Pumpkin Hunts

The Cornersburg and Austintown Dairy Queens will each host a Pumpkin Hunt on Oct. 26 and 27.

Children age 2 to 9 will be welcome to participate in a costume contest before the hunt, decorate their own pumpkin with any DQ purchase while supplies last and enjoy free candy, prizes and miniature pumpkins.

The Cornersburg location, 3555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will kick off the event at noon Oct. 26, and the Austintown location, 146 N. Canfield-Niles Road, will follow with festivities of its own at 3 p.m. Oct. 27.

‘Downton Abbey’ author at event

YOUNGSTOWN

Jessica Fellowes, author of “The World of Downton Abbey” and its sequel, “The Chronicles of Downton Abbey,” will be the featured author at the public library’s literary society dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The cost to attend this fundraising event is $65 and includes the dinner, a book and book signing. Call 330-740-6086 for reservations.

OSBA luncheon

Jonathan Hollingsworth, president of the Ohio State Bar Association, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 13 at noon Oct. 8 at the Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive.

Jackman S. Vodrey of East Liverpool will be honored for 50 years of service, and George P. Millich of Youngstown will receive the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s community service award for lawyers 40 and under.

An optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education seminar will follow the luncheon.
