BOARDMAN
The Rotary Club of Boardman will host its 37th Oktoberfestival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. The admission fee is $3.
This arts and crafts festival offers traditional shopping opportunities and festival food plus artist demonstrations, entertainment and strolling musicians.
More than 150 vendors, including not-for-profit organizations and retail establishments, will sponsor booths that create the event’s festive environment.
Co-chairing the event are Boardman Rotarians Sarah Marino and Jeff Michalenok. Title sponsors are Stifel’s Canfield office; and Lane LifeTrans Paramedics and Lane Funeral Home. Festivalgoers are urged to stop at the Rotary tent, adjacent to the Lariccia Boccie Court, to receive a free reusable shopping bag.
Boardman Rotary is collecting funds for one of its major projects, Operation Warm, which provides winter coats to children. At the tent, patrons are encouraged to make a $20 donation, which will supply a nice winter coat to a child.
To raise extra funds, the club sells coffee and baked goods at Goodies Galore. Boardman Rotary Club uses 100 percent of Oktoberfestival’s net proceeds to fund community and international service projects. The club has donated nearly $100,000 in the past two years.
