POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept. 20

Drug paraphernalia: Wendell Penny, 53, of 75 Fairfax St., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant: Dennis Piper, 46, of 485 W. Main St., Canfield, was arrested on an warrant from Canfield Mayor’s Court charging failure to appear.

Sept. 21

Drug abuse: James Burns, 22, of 1856 Paisley St., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of drug abuse.

Theft: Shannon McGarry, 40, of 67 Lisbon St., Canfield, was arrested on a warrant out of Poland Township charging theft by deception.

Drug possession: Robin Gamble, 29, of 903 S. Seneca, Alliance, was arrested on a charge of drug possession.

Warrant: Shaun Gates, 32, of 3645 Bandy Road, Homeworth, was arrested on a warrant out of Mahoning County Court No. 2, and Tracy Gross, 37, of 1316 W. State St., Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of Mahoning County Court No. 2.

Drug abuse: Thomas Peterson, 49, of 5303 St. Jacobs Logtown Road, Leetonia, was arrested on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 16

Vandalism: A dead (road kill) rabbit was left in a mail slot at Springwood Apartments in the 100 block of N. Kimberly Avenue.

Auto theft: A Yamaha 350 four-wheeler was stolen from a rear yard at a home in the 3000 block of Crum Road.

Criminal damaging: A candy vending machine was broken into at the Hampton Inn, 880 state Route 46.

Drug offense: Drug paraphernalia was found at a home in the 30 block of Lexington Place.

Theft: Three televisions, an Xbox 360 and a harmony remote were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Woodmere Drive.

Warrant: Lance Martin, 34, of 9659 Horn Road, Windham, was arrested on a warrant charging theft.

Theft: A customer’s keys were taken from a counter at Conroy’s Express, 3670 S. Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: A car was keyed at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An iPhone 5 was stolen at Infocision, 5740 Interstate Blvd.

Sept. 17

Theft: Work to a driveway was not completed at a home in the 200 block of Westminister Avenue.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Phone equipment was stolen at Radio Shack, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Several items were stolen at Induction Iron, 3710 Hendricks Road.

Drug offense: Justin Norman, 27, of 4853 Westchester Drive, No. 303, was arrested on charges of drug abuse of Clonazepam and Oxycodone Hydrochloride.

Domestic violence: Samuel Hamley, 18, of 4955 E. Rockwell Road was arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

Theft: A credit card was stolen at Econolodge, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive and later used in Warren.

Sept. 18

Theft: A home health-care worker stole rings at a room at Knights Tower, 107 Westchester Drive.

Theft: Several handguns and shotguns were taken from the basement of a home in the 100 block of N. Main Street.

Menacing: A male is a suspect in menacing at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Sept. 19

Shoplifting: Items were reported stolen by a shoplifter at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 20

Theft: An Ipod Touch was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Yorkshire Blvd.

Theft: Medication was reported stolen at a home in the 300 block of Dunbar Street.

Warrant: Sammy Anderson, 18, of 131 Raccoon Road was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a domestic violence threat charge.

Theft: A 20-inch gold necklace was stolen from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Sept. 21

Criminal trespass: Terry Hacon, 28, of 2448 Canfield-Niles Road, was issued a summons for criminal trespassing at Sheetz Gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: A television and jewelry were stolen from an apartment in the 80 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Telecommunications harassment: An ex-boyfriend is a suspect in telecommunications harassment at an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Sept. 22

Warrant: Kalon Adams, 22, of 2544 Hunter Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant charging failure to appear on a traffic violation.

Breaking and entering: A tractor was stolen from the front of the store at Tractor Supply Co., 6225 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A political sign was stolen at Idaho Road and Woodhurst Blvd.

Theft: Several items were stolen at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave., totaling over $250, and Frank Crone, 34, of 739 Regal Drive was arrested on a charge of theft.

Assault: A female was assaulted by another female at Austintown Bounce Inc., 4317 Kirk Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was shattered at a home in the 3000 block of Cumberland Drive.

Theft: Frank Crone, 34, of 739 Regal Drive, was arrested on charges of theft of food and possession of drug paraphernalia.
