Woman arrested after eluding police

YOUNGSTOWN —A woman was jailed after running from police who attempted to talk with her Sunday.

An officer on patrol spotted Neasha Taylor, 23, of Youngstown, walking in the middle of St. Louis Avenue at about 12:40 a.m., reports said. When the officer pulled up to her to ask her why she was not using the sidewalk, she ran away.

Another officer was called to the area and they found Taylor in the 300 block of West Earle Avenue, reports said, but she would not allow herself to be handcuffed when she was taken into custody, reports said.

She was arrested for the charges of obstruction of justice and resisting arrest and a records check showed she also had a failure to appear warrant from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office for the charges of possession of drugs and possession of cocaine.

She was taken to the county jail.
