ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 7 for a dinner meeting at Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church, 1836 North Road NE, Warren. Rosemarie Cardoso will present the program “Old World Traditions — Lost and Retained, Romania.” Church caterers will prepare an authentic Romanian meal. Cultural enrichment will include a movie about Romania and a tour of the church and its museum. Memberships, which run from September 2013 to June 2014, continue at $25 per person; and the cost for each meeting is $15 for paid members and $20 for nonmembers. ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at A La Cart Catering, Lisbon Street, Canfield. Owner Ron Cohen will speak about the recent grand opening of The Valley Marketplace. Cost is $17.75 per person; the menu is roast pork, turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, buttered green beans, tossed salad, applesauce, three-bean salad, rolls, pumpkin cake, and coffee or tea. Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter M will meet Saturday at Yankee Kitchen, 6635 Market St., Boardman. Dinner will be at 5 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 6.

POLITICAL CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club dinner meeting is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 2 at A La Cart Catering, Lisbon Street in Canfield. Dinner will consist of spinach salad, chicken fran ßaise, mashed red-skinned potatoes, Italian vegetable blend and pumpkin cake. The cost is $12 per person. Girard Men’s Democratic Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parkwood Youth Center.

League of Women Voters will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Warren Board of Elections. Featured speakers are Kelly Pallante and Jodi Dibble of the Board of Elections, discussing the November elections. A tour will be given to those interested, along with voter registration. Members are encouraged to take a guest. Information packets will be available to prospective members. The public is encouraged to attend. Meetings are held September through May on the fourth Monday of the month at various Trumbull County locations.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Altar and Rosary Society will meet for the rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church, followed by a meeting in the church hall.

St. Benedict’s Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church Social Hall, 180 Belvedere Ave. NE, Warren. The public is invited at no charge. Guest speaker will be Audrey Hudak on “Butterflies.” Refreshments will be served. No reservations required.

Canfield Lions Club is sponsoring a new Lions Club to District 13-D. The West Mahoning County Lions Charter Night will take place Oct. 5 at the Deerfield Town Hall in Deerfield. A social will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30.

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.

SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. The following events are scheduled: Monday, walking or bike riding at the trail on Kirk Road in Austintown at 6 p.m.; and Sept. 28, bowling at Boardman Lanes at 6:30 p.m.

SOCIETIES

Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley’s program Social Connections, is planning its first group outing. Adults 18 to 25 will take a guided tour at 6 p.m. Wednesday at News Radio 570 WKBN-Clear Channel Communications, 7461 South Ave, Boardman. Afterward the group will meet for dessert and discussion at Menchies in the Presidential Square Plaza. This activity is appropriate for those verbal men and women with moderate to high-functioning autism. New members are welcome, but preregistration is required.

Kinsman Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., Kinsman. Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, Trumbull County medical examiner, coroner and forensic pathologist, will speak about the recent outbreak of heroin usage in our area. The meeting is free.
