POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept.3

Jewelry missing: Several pieces of jewelry were reported missing at a home 700 block of Blueberry HiIl.

Sept. 6

Theft: $55 worth of fuel was stolen at Sunoco, 407 W. Main St., in a gas drive-off.

Sept. 9

Sick raccoon: A sick raccoon was reported at a home in the 7000 block of Herbert Road. Police responded and put the animal down.

Sept. 10

Theft: A cellphone was reported stolen from a student at Canfield Village Middle School, 42 Wadsworth St.

Misuse of 911: Jacquelin Romeo, 49, of 43 Hood Drive, was arrested on a charge of misuse of the 911 system.

Sept. 11

Drug paraphernalia: Garrett Clark, 22, of 359 Melrose Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept.12

Warrant: Pamela George, 48, of 1328 Fox Run Drive, No. 6, Boardman, was arrested on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant charging failure to appear on a criminal trespassing charge.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 9

Attempted breaking and entering: There were pry marks, and a phone line was cut at Churchill Counseling, 3649 U.S. Route 62.

Counterfeit currency: A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A window was taken out of a convertible at a home in the 1000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Counterfeit currency: An attempt to pass four fake $100 bills was reported at Pilot, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A bicycle was paid for with a bogus check over Craigslist at a home in the 1000 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: Money was taken from a roommate at an apartment in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Blvd.

Theft: A 60-inch television was taken from a home in the 5000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Telecommunications harassment: There is a suspect in a case of telecommunications harassment at a home in the 400 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Two suspects stole cellphone cases at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Two juveniles were caught stealing at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Matthew Lebron, 50, of 296 S. Navarre Ave., was arrested on a domestic-violence charge.

Sept. 10

Receiving stolen property: Jason Smith Jr., 20, of 391 Roselawn Drive, Lake Milton, was charged with receiving stolen property and resisting arrest, and Jason Smith Sr., 42, of 1758 Roselawn Drive, Lake Milton, was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property.

Theft: Items were stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 40 block of N. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A cellphone was stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Theft: A surround-sound system was stolen from a vehicle at the Austintown Plaza, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Damage to a pool was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Wyndclift Circle.

Warrant: Jessica Leedy, 32, of 57 N. Four Mile Run Road, was arrested on a warrant charging her with failure to appear on a probation violation for a receiving-stolen-property charge and on additional charges of drug abuse of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept.11

Aggravated menacing: A female is a suspect in aggravated menacing at a home in the 1000 block of N. Beverly Avenue.

Theft: A new pressure cooker that was delivered was taken off the front porch of a home in the 400 block of Westgate Blvd.

Theft: Darlien Seivert, 76, of 3422 Rebecca Drive, Canfield, was issued a summons in the theft of $30.19 in merchandise at Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A Samsung Galaxy 3 was stolen at McDonald’s, 1702 S. Raccoon Road.

Sept. 12

Telecommunications harassment: A suspect is accused of telecommunications harassment at a home in the 3000 block of S. Turner Road.

Warrant: Amanda Oesch, 28, of 847 Comstock St., Warren, was arrested on a warrant charging drug abuse of heroin.

Theft: Two registration stickers were stolen from an auto at a home in the 2000 block of Whispering Pines Drive.

Theft: $95 in cash was stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Sept.13

Theft: Three PS3 game consoles were taken at Game Stop, 5515 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: Seven batteries were removed from heavy equipment at property in the 400 block of N. Meridian Road.

Theft: A theft was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Drive.

Theft: Four packs of condoms valued at $35.96 were stolen at Kmart.

Sept.14

Drug offense: Christina Seydlorwski, 18, of 261 Third St., Youngstown, was issued a summons for a charge of possession of marijuana, and Michael Ray, 18, of 4275 Burkey Road, was issued a summons for charges of drug abuse marijuana and possession of marijuana.

Warrant: Daniel Farah, 27, of 1338 Bexley Drive, was arrested on a warrant charging theft.

Fraud: Money was taken from a Home Savings account at a home in the 5000 block of Winslow Drive.

Fraud: A phone scam at the Peking Palace, 4765 Mahoning Ave., cost the victim $500.

Identity theft: A niece wrote a fake check with the victim’s account number at Chase Bank, 5531 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: Dominic Schmitt, 18, of 100 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, was issued a summons charging possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
