Pa. man charged in fatal lawn mower crash

NEW OXFORD, Pa. (AP) — A south-central Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a man on a riding lawn mower.

Authorities said 44-year-old Jonathan Giannotto of Abbottstown was driving under the influence when his pickup truck crashed into a riding mower on Aug. 14, killing 55-year-old Charles Ankney of New Oxford.

Pennsylvania State Police in Gettysburg said Giannotto was arrested Tuesday and taken to Adams County Prison. He is charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and related counts.

His bail was set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 6.
