Boardman police receives $39K state traffic-safety grant


BOARDMAN — The township police department has received a $39,717 federal traffic-safety grant through the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Office of Criminal Justice Services for fiscal year 2014.

"These federal funds are essential in ensuring that we are doing everything we possibly can tokeep our township safe," said police Chief Jack Nichols. "Based on traffic data, we are targeting violators for aggressive driving offenses, such as speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, and seat-belt usage."
