Youngstown police arrest man on drug-trafficking charges

YOUNGSTOWN — Police say they found six medium or large bags of suspected marijuana on a man they arrested outside an East Side apartment complex apartment early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the Plazaview Court housing complex about 4:30 a.m. by a woman who said she needed help getting a man to leave who had harmed her before.

When police arrived, they found the man who had been in her apartment, Corey K. Reese, 29, of Youngstown, in a hallway and made him go outside. Reese acted very nervous and when police tried to cuff him to search him, he pulled away and had to be taken to the ground, reports said.

Reese smelled heavily of marijuana and police found the bags in his pockets when they searched him.

He was taken to Mahoning County jail on the charges of trafficking in drugs, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
