Police: Man made 2 Ohio school threats in dispute

Monday, October 21, 2013

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio (AP) — Police say a man admitted making bomb threats against a suburban Cleveland elementary school using another man’s name as retaliation in a business dispute between the two.

Fairview Park police said the suspect was in custody today and charges were pending.

The two threats led to evacuations and searches to clear the school, about 10 miles west of Cleveland. No explosives were found.

Police say a threat forwarded to the department on Oct. 8 was signed with a name, but investigators determined that person wasn’t responsible. They say the second threat was received today on a police department employee’s cellphone. Police say they traced the source of the text and were led to the suspect because of a common thread between the threats.

The suspect’s name wasn’t immediately released.
