Drug drop-off box

LORDSTOWN

The Lordstown Police Department recently installed a prescription-medication drop box in the lobby of the police department building at 1583 Salt Springs Road. The box is accessible 24 hours a day, 7-days a week.

“Anyone can drop off unused or unwanted medications,” said Chief Brent Milhoan. “We are not limiting use to residents of Lordstown.” Officers from the Trumbull Ashtabula Group will count the medications and destroy them.

The Lordstown Police Department installed this box to “limit the misuse of drugs by children and teens who often get the drugs right from their family’s medicine cabinets,” said Milhoan. The box was funded through a grant from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators.
