MedWorks of Cleveland will partner with One Health Ohio’s Youngstown Community Health Center, 726 Wick Ave., in offering a one-day free health clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Appointments can be made by calling the MedWorks appointment lines at 330-259-1424 or 216-201-9325. Walk-in patients also will be accepted on clinic day between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
MedWorks is a nonprofit providing free health care clinics to Ohio’s uninsured and underinsured, primarily in Cuyahoga County. The organization provides care for its patients and serves as an access point for those individuals to the medical community.
Some 50 health care medical professional and support volunteers will offer a broad range of medical and dental services. All services provided are free, said MedWorks, which is making its first visit to the Mahoning Valley.
Examples of services include physical exams, dental screenings, HIV testing, cholesterol and blood-sugar tests and flu shots.
Each patient will have the opportunity to meet with a social worker to help schedule follow-up appointments through One Health Ohio’s Health Centers located in Youngstown, Warren and Alliance.
The clinic is made possible by the support of many corporate sponsors as well as financial support from the Eva L. and Joseph M. Bruening Foundation and the Dominion Foundation.
