YOUNGSTOWN

Accompanying the play “Specter of Treason” will be a free seminar on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and its aftermath Dec. 7 at Youngstown State University.

Titled “JFK and Dallas,” the seminar is being conducted by the Victorian Players and J&B Production Arts Services. Guests will include Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, a nationally renowned forensic pathologist and a prominent critic of the Warren Commission, its “single-bullet” theory and its pinning of all culpability on Lee Harvey Oswald.

Other nationally known researchers also will give presentations at the seminar, which will feature exhibits of assassination information and memorabilia from Kennedy’s time in office.

Wecht will give a presentation on Kennedy’s autopsy.

Also participating will be Debra Conway of JFK Lancer Productions and Publications in Dallas, a leading authority on information concerning the case. She will speak on the failure of the Warren Commission and why this case still matters today.

Also scheduled is Steve Jones, who has written numerous articles about the assassination. His presentation will argue that Oswald could not have fired at Kennedy due to his location in the School Book Depository.

Former state Sen. Harry Meshel will serve as the moderator for the presentations, with Rich Morgan of WKBN handling the same duties for an end-of-the-day forum. Also on hand will be Glenn Stevens of 21 WFMJ-TV to discuss how the news media changed with the JFK assassination.
