WARREN

A 24-year-old Wick Street Southeast woman is charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired and two counts of child endangering after police found her passed out in her car at the Pit Stop gas station, 1708 Youngstown Road Southeast, early Thursday.

Kayla M. Pennell refused to take field sobriety tests or a blood-alcohol test after police woke her up at around 1 a.m. Police smelled alcohol coming from Pennell, and she had trouble walking, they said.

Two children, ages 2 and 3, were seated in the back seat of the car when police arrived. A witness observed Pennell in the car, with the car in park and the engine running, police said.
