YOUNGSTOWN

Police say a South Side man was taken into custody on a parole violation after agents found drugs and bullets during a visit to his Hilton Avenue home about 10:25 a.m. Tuesday.

Police accompanied agents from the state Adult Parole Authority who were checking on Keith Brooks, 51, and found four men inside who scattered before police knocked on the door. Brooks is on probation for breaking and entering, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property charges, reports said.

The men were told to leave if they did not live there, and they did without protest, reports said.

Agents searched the home and found a box of .38-caliber bullets, a bag of suspected heroin and a bag of suspected crack cocaine.

Brooks was taken to the Mahoning County jail on a probation violation and also for the charges of possession of crack cocaine and possession of heroin.
