Students at C.H. Campbell Elementary School were treated to a day of fun in honor of Student Appreciation Day May 17. The students enjoyed a Dairy Queen ice cream sundae bar outside and spent time bouncing on three inflatables in the gymnasium.

The inflatables, provided by Movin and Groovin Productions included a slide, bounce house and obstacle course. The bounce arounds were a reward for a successful cookie dough sale the students had in the fall.

The ice cream bar was provided by the school’s PTO and included such topping as chocolate, caramel, sprinkles, Oreos, gummy bears, whipped cream, and the cherry on top. PTO parent volunteers helped students concoct their sundaes and the students ate them on the playground. The students were also given extra time to enjoy their new playground equipment.

According to Travis Lavery, C.H. Campbell Elementary School principal, Student Appreciation Day is offered annually at the school to thank the students for making C. H. Campbell such a great place to be.
