THURSDAY
Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.
FRIDAY
Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided. This is the last sale until after Labor Day.
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available at 11 a.m.
St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday; no containers are necessary. Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.
St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. This is the final sale of the season.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-in orders are welcome. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
Youngstown Shrine Club, 1735 W. South Range Road, North Lima, will have its annual fish fry from 3 to 7 p.m. in the main club room. Dinners are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12, and include, coleslaw, french fries or macaroni and cheese, rolls and beverages. Takeouts are available. The club can be accessed during road construction on Route 165 from the east. The road is closed just past the club going west.
SATURDAY
North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will serve an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. for a donation. Items on the buffet include eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice and other beverages. TAKING ORDERS
Mount Carmel Society of Niles is taking orders for its pizza sale on June 7. Red pizzas cost $6 each, and calzones cost $10 each. Calzone varieties are potato, spinach or a combination of the two. To order call 330-652-2811 by 7 p.m. June 2. Orders will be picked up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles, in the education center.
Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is taking orders for either nut or apricot kolachi. Cost is $9 each. Call 330-758-5108 by the Sunday deadline. Pickup will be from 2 to 3 p.m. June 1.
UPCOMING
St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will sell beef tips and noodles dinners to go from 3 p.m. until sold out June 6. No need to get out of your car nor to preorder. Dinners will cost $8. The meals include green beans, a roll and a piece of cake.
