First Niles dividend

First Niles Financial Inc., the parent company of Home Federal Savings and Loan Association of Niles, has announced a cash dividend of 5 cents per share on common stock and 6 cents per share on preferred class A stock for the second quarter of 2013.

The dividend will be payable June 21 to shareholders of record June 7.

First Niles had $99.9 million in assets and $12.8 million in stockholders equity as of March 31. First Niles is traded on the Nasdaq Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board under the symbol FNFI.

Grant for firefighters

WARREN

BP will present a check for $50,000 to Warren firefighters at 10 a.m. today at the fire station on South Street.

The grant will go to assist the firefighters in their Save a Life With Smoke Alarms initiative aimed at providing smoke alarms for all inner-city Warren homes.

Bar grand opening

The Viper Room, a new bar at 1281 Salt Springs Road, will have a grand-opening celebration starting Thursday and ending Sunday.

The festivities at the Viper Room will include live music from the band Edison’s Medicine on Thursday and giveaways for military veterans all weekend long.

The Viper Room is the former home of the Torch Bar and the Merry-Go-Round.
