Neighbors | Submitted .Brownie Girl Scout Troop No. 80168 visited the Little Red Schoolhouse in Poland in May. The troop inlcudes, Paige Ogden; Juliana Glass; Tanner Schade; Gabriella Calderon; Grace Raymer; Julia Ranno; Katie McDonald; Marisa Davanzo; Mara Blanco; Sophia Graziano; Lisa Ogden, troop leader and Cassi Calderon, assistant Leader.
Brownie Girl Scout Troop No. 80168 visited the Little Red Schoolhouse in Poland Township in May. As part of Girl Scout Thinking Day, the troop learned about the country of Poland and decided they wanted to know more about their hometown – Poland.
In February, the troop attended the Poland Historical Society’s meeting, where they learned about some of the families that were instrumental in the settling of Poland Township and Poland Village. Dave Smith, a Poland Historical Society trustee, showed the troop many interesting artifacts on display and told them the history of the schoolhouse. Sue Holloway, also a Poland Historical Society trustee, told the girls the story of “White Saddle.”
Following their history lesson, the Brownies planted flowers at the schoolhouse.
Troop No. 80168 is made up of third-graders from Holy Family and Dobbins Elementary schools. They have been together since kindergarten when they joined the Girl Scouts as Daisies.
