Inventor earns gold medal at show

Mario Ricciardi, of Boardman, earned a gold medal for his Stain-N-Go invention at InventHelp’s INPEXa, America’s largest invention trade show in Pittsburgh.
The invention is a one-step product that conveniently packages and applies to differently profiled, new or existing, smooth or textured surfaces while they are flat, tilted or standing upright.
Pfizer approves $10 billion share buyback program
NEW YORK
Pfizer’s board of directors has declared a 24 cent regular quarterly dividend and approved a new $10 billion share buyback program.
The New York drugmaker said Thursday that it will pay the dividend Sept. 4 to shareholders of record on Aug. 2.
In addition to the new share buyback plan, Pfizer also has clearance to buy $3.9 billion shares from an earlier buyback program.
Pfizer Inc. shares rose 8 cents to $28.18 in regular trading. The stock added 37 cents to $28.55 in extended trading.
Court: Hobby Lobby can challenge law
DENVER
A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that Hobby Lobby stores have a good case that the federal health care law violates their religious beliefs in ordering them to provide birth control to employees, and that they shouldn’t be subject to millions in fines while their claim is considered.
The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver decided the Oklahoma City-based arts and crafts chain can proceed with its lawsuit seeking to overturn the birth-control coverage mandate on religious grounds. The judges unanimously sent the case back to a lower court in Oklahoma, which previously said Hobby Lobby must comply with the requirement or start paying millions of dollars in fines
