YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and Youngstown Police Department, announced today that an operating a vehicle while impaired checkpoint will be from 10 tonight to 2 a.m. Saturday tonight on state Route 7 (Market Street) north of Midlothian Boulevard.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoint will also take place in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes, according to a state patrol press release.
