POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in Canfield city and Austintown:

CANFIELD

June 13

Criminal damaging: Property damage was reported at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., after six suspected juveniles were involved in an incident of “Gallon Smashing.”

July 7

Harassing phone calls: A Janet Drive resident reported receiving unwanted calls from telemarketers.

July 22

Animal complaint: Police cited Cheryl Poltarec, 54, of 400 Bradford Drive, on a charge of having dogs/other animals running at large.

July 28

Public Indecency: Police arrested Mark Tomko, 37,of 54 Hood Drive, on a charge of public indecency.

AUSTINTOWN

July 22

Theft: A PlayStation, Wii console and games were stolen from a home in the 20 block of North Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: A suspect purchased a vehicle from a victim in the 2000 block of Bainbridge Street but failed to make payment.

Criminal damaging: Water was put in a vehicle’s gas tank at a home in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Breaking and entering: A pressure washer was stolen from a shed at a home in the 1000 block of Northfield Drive.

Theft: Two unauthorized charges totaling $5,564 were reported at a home in the 200 block of Sprucewood Court.

Burglary: A television was stolen from a residence at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Burglary: A teenage daughter broke into a house in the 4000 block of Kirk Road and her friends damaged property.

Drug offense: Police arrested Jodi Gibson, 24,of 209 Carnegie Ave., on a drug offense of possession of dangerous drugs and drug abuse instruments.

July 23

Warrant: Police arrested Andrew Ghumm, 25, of 680 N. Perkins Road, Warren, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on an open-container charge.

Fraud: Fraud was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Darbyshire Blvd.

Lost or stolen property: Medication was reported lost or stolen at Knights Towers, 107 Westchester Drive.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken out of a vehicle parked at ValleyCare Health Center, 20 Ohltown Road.

July 24

Obstructing official business: Police issued a summons to DeShawn Harvey,40, 690 Woodbine Ave., Warren, on charge of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Criminal damaging: Vehicle windows were damaged in the 30 block of Idlewood Road.

Recovered property: A 50-pound bag of Anderson’s insecticide was recovered at North Anderson Court and Mahoning Avenue.

Fraud: A check was deposited from a nonexistent account. The bank paid money out at Farmers Bank, 22 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: An employee took 136 lottery tickets at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: Jewelry was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Assault: A man was assaulted at a home in the 30 block of North Yorkshire Boulevard.

Theft: Golf clubs were taken from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Staatz Drive.

Theft: Unauthorized transactions were made from a bank account at a home in the 400 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

July 25

Identity theft: A stolen ID was used to title a car, and the victim is driving under suspension because of it at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.

Menacing by stalking: A woman reported being stalked by an ex-boyfriend at Invisible Fence, 3833 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal trespassing: A female attempted to confront another female at a home in the 2000 block of Birch Trace.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Cory Endress, 24, of 7109 Ruby Courts, for drug abuse of marijuana.

July 26

Pursuit: Police issued citations to a 90-year-old female after a pursuit at Mahoning and Evans avenues.

Theft: Jewelry was taken from a home in the 200 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Unauthorized use: Friends took a car at a home in the 4000 block of Staatz Drive. It was found at Mill Creek Park.

Assault: A large fight took place at the Ice House Inn, 5516 W. Webb Road, and a male victim was taken to the hospital.

July 27

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Randall Bennett, 33, of 3980 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, for possession of marijuana, and issued a summons to Alyssa Wagonia,20, of 1010 Compass West, for drug abuse and possession of cocaine.

Theft: Police arrested Tammy Ranase,48, of 49411 Carmel Acre Road, Rogers, for theft, drug possession and drug paraphernalia at Sheetz gas station.

Theft: Unauthorized use of a credit card was reported at a home in the 1000 block of Mulberry Run.

Breaking and entering: A crossbow was taken from a storage unit at Uncle Bob’s Storage,3690 LeHarps Road.

Recovered property: An Ohio license front plate was recovered at Mahoning Avenue and Viall Road.

Burglary: $400 to $500 was taken after forced entry into a home in the 200 block of Carnegie Avenue.

Drug offense: Police arrested Timothy McCauley, 33, of 104 Franklin St., Niles, on charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Theft: Police arrested Gennaro Brocious, 25, of 4697 Barrington Drive, on a charge of theft as an employee at Inner Circle Pizza and possession of heroin.

Menacing: A female told police she was being menaced in the 1000 block of Compass West.

July 28

Drug offense: Police issued two summonses to Daniel Garcia, 28, of Johnson Farm Court, for possession of marijuana.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Cedril Washington, 28, of 1106 Noble St., Alliance, for possession of marijuana.

Criminal damaging: Lug nuts were loosened on a vehicle at a home in the 200 block of Athens Drive.

Misuse of credit card: Four transactions were placed on a credit card at a home in the 2000 block of Penny Lane.

Theft: A woman’s paycheck was stolen at Perkins,5550 Interstate Blvd.
