Arson damages vacant South Side home

A fire at 757 E. Florida Ave., a vacant home on the South Side, at about 9:20 p.m. Thursday caused $5,000 damage, fire reports said.
Crews called to the home found fire on the outside of the boarded up front door, reports said. Both the front and back doors had been forced open before firefighters arrived, reports said.
No one was injured. The cause is listed as arson.
