Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary, 1859 Depot Road, Salem, is planning its fourth annual Gavin Ward Memorial Golf Tournament for Saturday at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course, 2745 Grandview Road.
The registration fee is $65 per person, and it includes a golf cart, beverages, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The format is a four-person scramble. A basket auction will feature sports-autographed items from such players as Maurkice Pouncey, John Simon, Terry Francona and Nolan Ryan.
Prizes will be featured on each hole. The grand prize is a three-year lease on a 2013 Chevy Cruze for a hole-in-one on the eighth hole. Prizes are donated by Sweeney Chevrolet.
The golf tournament is named in honor of Gavin Ward, a special young volunteer at Alchemy Acres who died at the age of 12.
Proceeds benefit the pets at Alchemy Acres.
