Official appointed
COLUMBUS
Gov. John R. Kasich has appointed Christopher J. O’Brien of Masury to the Brookfield Local Schools Financial Planning and Supervision Commission for a term that began Thursday and continues at the pleasure of the governor.
Ohio Auditor Dave Yost declared the school district in a state of fiscal emergency in May.
Brief road closing
SHARON, PA.
The Shenango Valley Freeway (U.S. Route 62) and Budd Street will close for about 10 minutes between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Sunday to enable utility workers from Lumos Networks to stretch an aerial cable across the freeway at Budd Street, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
This low-traffic period was chosen to minimize inconvenience to the traveling public and help ensure safety, a PennDOT spokesman said.
