Mike and Diane Parkhurst are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia Lee Parkhurst, and Michael F. Smrek. Rick and Linda Smrek are the parents of the future groom. All reside in Boardman.
St. Paul the Apostle Church of New Middletown will be the setting of the 12:30 p.m. Aug. 3 open wedding. Invitations will be issued for a reception to follow at A La Cart Catering in Canfield.
The bride-elect received a degree in nursing from Choffin School of Practical Nursing. She is a private-duty nurse in Boardman.
Her fiancé received a degree in criminal justice from Youngstown State University.
