Shale workshop
Canfield
Ohio State University Extension has planned a workshop to help farmers, landowners and others learn more about the shale boom in Northeast Ohio.
“Shale and You: A Workshop for Landowners” will take place Saturday.
Property owners are invited to join OSU Extension educators and specialists to learn more about the development of Ohio’s shale-gas resources.
The workshop will cover topics such as leasing land, water issues, pipeline construction, taxation and more.

New pediatric clinic

Innovative Family Wellness, a new clinic focusing on ADHD and autism-spectrum disorders such as Asperger’s syndrome, officially opens for business today at 8261 Market St.
Its owner, Dr. Noah C. Erickson, also treats other common pediatric health problems such as ear infections, allergies and digestive disorders using a natural approach.
Erickson’s training and education in health care includes being a certified athletic trainer, emergency-medicine technician, medical acupuncturist, chiropractor and biomedical autism practitioner. With a background in biology and health science, he says he is a strong advocate for evidence-based, research- supported information, testing and treatment.
Warren eatery to open

Cindi & Steve’s Courtyard Cafe opens for business Thursday at 187 W. Market St.
The new eatery offers a cafeteria-style lunch atmosphere for the on-the-go crowd. The menu includes sliced roast beef, real mashed potatoes, stuffed pork chops, lasagna and other home-cooked staples.
The cafe also will offer free wireless Internet, take-out and delivery service.
InfoCision interviews
InfoCision will open its doors to job-seekers this week by having open interviews at its New Castle and Boardman offices.
The first open interviews will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at 253 E. Washington St. in downtown New Castle. On Thursday, interviews will take place at 8530 Crossroads Drive in Boardman.

U.S. stock markets were closed Monday for Presidents Day.
Burger King hacked
Somebody hacked Burger King’s Twitter account Monday, posting obscene messages and changing its profile picture to a McDonald’s logo.
The tweets stopped after a little more than an hour, and Burger King said it had reached out to Twitter to suspend the account.
A Twitter spokesman did not respond immediately to a phone message left Monday.
Burger King, which usually tweets several times a week, said it was working to get the account back up. Typical tweets promoted sales on chicken sandwiches or asked how many bites it takes to eat a chicken nugget.
But just after noon Monday, someone tweeted via Burger King’s account, “We just got sold to McDonalds!” They also changed the icon to rival McDonald Corp.’s golden arches and the account’s background picture to McDonald’s new Fish McBites.
About 55 tweets and retweets followed over the next hour and a quarter, including some that contained racial epithets, references to drug use and obscenities. The account tweeted: “if I catch you at a wendys, we’re fightin!”
