Power outage affects 1,500 in Girard
GIRARD
Around 1,500 customers are out of power in Girard, but it is expected to be back in service by 11 p.m., according to Ohio Edison.
Power was flickering on and off in Girard about 7:30 p.m. today on the north end of town, sending the Girard Fire Department to Trinity Steel, 1170 North State Street, for a fire alarm.
Fire officials said there was no fire, and they believe the power problem set off the alarm.
Ohio Edison said it is still investigating the cause of the outage.
